My auriculas are now safely tucked up in the greenhouse for winter, so I've been enjoying putting other plants and flowers on my shelves. I had fun displaying the last of my dahlias in little vases, and then bought a tray of little violas from Lidl for next to nothing, and they are currently cheering me up as the weather gets colder. For the charcoal-coloured shelves, I cut some hydrangea, poppy and grass seed heads from the garden and displayed them in terracotta pots and glass jars. And I'm planning to display pots of snowdrops on the charcoal shelves this winter. The thing I love about these shelves is that they are at eye height on the wall outside my back door, which means that I really look at the plants and appreciate their shapes and colours.
